PACHHTAAO

Nokia "Kharido ya pachhtaao" promotion started by NOKIA on a wide scale at NOKIA priority stores.

The first pic was taken at MULUND and the second one at MATUNGA. I have seen such type of publicity for the first time in MUMBAI where a person carries an illuminated backpac type banner.

In Matunga there were like 10 people moving one behind the other making some noises to catch the attention.

It was truly an innovative way to catch attention.

But there was one flaw which i felt, the PACHHTAAO part font size was too large as compared to KHARIDO....there focus should have been on kharido rather than pacchtaao.

The two things that came to my mind after visualising it was NOKIA and PACCHTAAO,

That was surely not what the message was!!!

THE MOBILE STORE

This was an old LEXUS probably which was kept outside mobile store, Matunga for a day. It was truly an eye catcher. Though i was late for the lecture at welinglars i decided to wait and take a PIC of this beautiful car.
Initially I thought of this as a scratch prize for the person who purchases a mobile from the store.
But later on confirmation with Kaustubh the publicity manager of the MOBILE STORE, i came to know that they own this car and they place it at various mobile store locations for publicity.
They also use it for carrying their goods!
Mobiles at this store are usually costlier than the market at alpha, andheri or any other store.
Still it was a good promotion shot.

Pigeons....Humans

A few days back I had a sms frm one of my school frnds asking to keep some water outside the window as many birds are dying of sunstroke.....
So I kept some water in a bowl outside my window for drinking purpose....
The pigeon didnt drink any water instead took it as his/her small swimming pool and spoiled the whole water and never drink anything...
I suppose even if i wud have put a banner saying for drinking purpose only ....they wud not have understood...

SO I thought that are we humans also like pigeons ...whatever is our immediate requirement we try and fullfill first....there are invisible banners put all over ...limited resourse only!!!...still we dont understand the meaning.....

Welingkar GD/PI excperience PGDM

Welingkar being one of the most sought after college for MBA, the GD/PI was not as smooth as CET GD/PI. We were given various slots in the day(they were adjusting late or early comers in various slots). Things were very well organized and professional. It was managed by some seniors from welingkars.
We were provided wid one bottle of water and sandwich so there was atleast some return on investment.....
The process was we had to attend first the presentation on college in audi, nxt it was GD, nxt PI, and later pyschometric test was conducted.

Presentations gave highlight of both the campus banglore and mumbai. Few alumnis, Dean Dr. Uday salunkhe and students gave their presentation.

Nxt we were taken to GD (there were stickers stuck on us like kaidi belonging to group a,b,c,d,e,f,g).
GD

It was a U shaped arrangement and 2 panel members. The topic which we were given was "Rural People have more Fire in their Belly than Urban people". We were given 2 min to jot down points. It started, everyone wanted to speak....as everyone knew they were fighting for 150 seats and there were nearly 5-8 thousand candidates all over india whom they had to compete wid.....but there were a few of candidates who streamlined saying "let me complete my point" but people were listening...so it was a good GD on the whole. There was a instance when i started wid my point and a girl showed some calming gestures wid her hands to me...I was diverted and I had to cut short my point....so kindly be ware of such acts Guys....
Another group was having " Money is the only important thing in life" it was a complete mess as complained by some candidates.
Last 2 min was given for conclusion.
So it was a energetic GD.

PI
I managed to complete just before the lunch time. The girl ahead of me was a designer so she had made a presentation of her own about herself, she didnt take it inside wid her but if required she was ready wid that...it was something different....she was asked wid questions like what is the color of the wall behind u and stuffs...
It was a one on one PI. It was not at all a stress PI. I was asked on my hobbies...I had written watching movies so one of the question was bound to be asked ..fav movie....i said lagaan...then wat was the name of the guy who spinned the ball, who blew drums, orig name of the elisabeth....
So in short what ever u write in the essay questions which u have filled while submittin the form ...u shud be ready wid strong reasons for that....
nxt it was creativity test....He gave me a photograph "2 dolphins moving in downward direction , sun in the background, and water everywhere"...so describe he said , I said as there are two dolphins thy may be couple or just frnds enjoying...I said on the negative side as the sun is setting and the dolphins are moving down it may be an indicator of Global warming...

Nxt question which was asked was if there is kasab sittin outside this room and u see him while going out what wud be ur first reaction to it!!!!
If tendulkar was sittin outside and u meet him then what wud be ur reaction!!!
i was not able to give any good ans for it....

There were a few questions on sharemarket as ...if the nasdaq falls why does bse fall?
another one was if reliance decide to enter in the business of preprocessed food ..how will u take the news!!!

So it was a decent interview, it lasted for around 15min.

Psychometric test
After this i had to move for pyshco test on computer....there were a few questions like are u a socializing type of person.....then if u say yes ....after some more questions it wud be asked whether u like to travel or r u an extrovert....carefully ans are to be given....without contradicting ur self....It was approximately 15min and some 75 questions..

Being the most sought after college a very good competition is expected with welingkars'

MBA CET GD/PI experience 2009

Hi friends,
On 29th I had my MBACET gd/pi at Sydnam college, Churchgate. I was instructed by my friends to be one hour early and it was really very beneficial, as we have to fill a form containing some essay questions for PI before the GD/PI starts (It could also be filled after GD, but u may get less time). So I had a lot of time to fill the questions.

Questions in the sheet consists of
Everything in Block on first page Black/Blue.
Academic details(u need to know ur first yr, second yr, Third yr and fourth yr(if) percentage)
Work experience if any.
ur Roll no and Reg ID(which wud be there on your hall ticket)

Then on the other side of the page u have essay questions.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Achievements/ Extra curicullar activites
National or state level achievements/ Extracurricular activities
Family background
Why do u want to do MBA?
Why do u think that ur a good manager
One event in the last decade which is of a great impact in india.
What cud be done to make india superpower.

GD
There were a few students who had come wid their parents. Parents were allowed to sit in the waitin room. Couple of students were in jeans and sport shoes.

So we were called right on time for the GD ( I suppose Students who were being accomodated in some other batch as they were callin for previous batch students so if u are late by mistake dont worry!! But still dont take chances and be one hour before time)

We had a group of approximately 13. A couple of students were not present.
There were three panel members. The topic was sealed in envelop which was opened in front of us.
There were two topics from which we had to select by consensus within 5 min or they will decide which topic to speak.
Our 2 topics were,
A) The Past belongs to us but we do not belong to the past, We belong to the present and We are the makers of our Future.
B)Generation X are the drivers of our future or are they lost souls.

After deciding after disscussion and consensus we arrived at topic A. We were give further 5 min to think over the topic and discuss. Just make sure that u start or stop when the bell rings or on instruction. Someone started before the bell rang in US.

The GD continued for 15 min, I thank god it was not a fish market. It was a cool GD wid points coming out at proper pace. Candidates who were not able to enter were given chance by the panel in between. People lookin at faculty and speakin were instructed in middle DONT LOOK AT ME!!!. The last 5 min were for conclusion.

After the GD we had to wait for PI.
As ours was 12-1pm so lunch had started and we waited till 2pm.

PI
PI was 2 on 1. And there were There different places were PI was being conducted. Our batch was having a pretty long PI while others were gettin over in 5 min. The first guy in our batch was grilled a bit for 25 min. He was a fresher and was asked about Globalisation, Liberalisation, Recession How, Why??.(Freshers are asked on essay topics which they have written in form). After that another was for 20 min. And mine was for approximately 15 min.(But i dont know exactly how much time passed as we never realize, how much someone has grilled us!!).
As i was having work experience, i was asked much on work ex. and why after engg. and such a good technical record In GE healthcare do u want to do an MBA !! Dont u think ur work ex was a wastage?? dont u think that u r wasting time doing an MBA.
Final question was how is Globalisation affecting the enviornment air, land or water. Select one and ans. I selected water ans spoke about oil slick, ramsetu and dhamraa port(tata venture, affecting olive ridley turtles).

So finally after the interview gets over a signature has to be taken on the hall ticket from the management.

IF ur centre is registered for ARC. Carry originals and attested copies wid u so that it is completed on the same day.

WELL BEST OF LUCK those who are preparing for gd/pi.

Candidate can contest frm two places at the same time!!!

Lalu prasad yadav recently contested frm two places saran and patliputra.

He lost in one place and won in other.

In india a candidate can contest from two places max. in the lok sabha elections.

Lalu must be very thankful to this policy or else he wud have had to sit in his cocoon for 5yrs!!!

My vote counted

I was really shocked to see that kirit somaiya lost sanjay dina patil by just 3000 votes.

I voted for NCP as i wanted secular congress at the centre.

Watching the results i believe that my vote was in that 3000 which brought the change...i win..

I am very happy that the proper decision has come as if it was for the third or the fourth front to form the government, it wud have worked for just a few months and i am saved from gettin my another finger nailpolished!!!(These election guys they put ink on your entire nail as if nailpolished).

cudos to congress and feathers on their cap....

How I met your mother....

What an AWESOMEest series.

I have watched 84 episodes stretched over four seasons....and i bet if someone says that the seasons were something less than AWESOME.....

All the characters TED, BARNY, MARSHALL, ROBIN, LILY were extraordinary....

I have the collection if someone wants....

Just $10 per season...on the condition i will give season 4 first so that u will surely get the remaining three seasons.

"Oppurtunities of climate change!!!!"

Warmer temperatures in the UK will be welcomed by many people. The introduction of different animals and plants could have its benefits, as well as negatives.

Our lifestyles could change dramatically and we could spend more time taking part in activities outdoors (in the summer anyway).

Employment patterns could change too. The tourist industry in the UK should improve and that would create jobs throughout the country.

Although agriculture will have some negative impacts, new crops will be able to be produced - an increase in vineyards, sunflower plantations and sweetcorn farming should all be financially lucrative

How somalia fisherman became pirate....

Points
1>>>Ever since a civil war brought down Somalia's last functional government in 1991, the country's 3,330 km (2,000 miles) of coastline — the longest in continental Africa — has been pillaged by foreign vessels.

2>>>A United Nations report in 2006 said that, in the absence of the country's at one time serviceable coastguard, Somali waters have become the site of an international "free for all," with fishing fleets from around the world illegally plundering Somali stocks and freezing out the country's own rudimentarily-equipped fishermen.

3>>>an estimated $300 million worth of seafood is stolen from the country's coastline each year.A 2006 study published in the journal Science predicted that the current rate of commercial fishing would virtually empty the world's oceanic stocks by 2050.

4>>>High-seas trawlers from countries as far flung as South Korea, Japan and Spain have operated down the Somali coast, often illegally and without licenses, for the better part of two decades, the U.N. says. They often fly flags of convenience from sea-faring friendly nations like Belize and Bahrain, which further helps the ships skirt international regulations and evade censure from their home countries.

5>>>In the early days of Somali piracy, those who seized trawlers without licenses could count on a quick ransom payment, since the boat owners and companies backing those vessels didn't want to draw attention to their violation of international maritime law.

6>>> dumping toxic and nuclear waste off Somalia's shores. it cost $2.50 per ton for a European company to dump these types of materials off the Horn of Africa, as opposed to $250 per ton to dispose of them cleanly in Europe.

7>>>In the meantime, Somali piracy has metastasized into the country's only boom industry. Most of the pirates, observers say, are not former fishermen, but just poor folk seeking their fortune.

What can be done to make india vote,,,,,,,,

Points
1>>> A school in south made an announcement that if the students want an extra 2marks in their report card, then their parents shud go and vote for elections......and come to school wid the proof of the same!!!! what an excellent idea.....with students pushing their parents for the extra marks they wud defintely go and vote.....

Recession has hard hit on the international students in US

International students are in a soup at present with the current rule, as they have to search for a job in the same field of study and within a stipulated time(approx 90 days) or else return to their mother country.
This has come cracking on them who have planned to repay the loan back in their mother country after a couple of yrs of job.
Students facing such problem and people who are ready to help them can drop in their blogs...
